3.2 Costume Commentary
These are the items of clothing which will be worn by the character Wesley Maggs. We want to keep the same visual connotation of the black coat to help empathize on the general stereotype of teenagers and keep the same mysterious and dangerous look as the other two characters. The orange t-shirt of Wes's character is something we have chosen specifically to try to represent his characters personality. The use of the vibrant orange t-shirt is something we have chosen to show the representation that the colour itself and that his confidence and enthusiasm is shown through his costume. The orange t-shirt can also be seen to represent his association to danger as well as his character being the brains behind everything the group of teenagers do.
The items of clothing which will be worn by the character Jae Stacey are also intended to portray the mysterious and typical teenage stereotype of a chav. The black adidas hoodie over the t-shirts is something we want to show audience that beneath the surface of this suposedely mysterious and dangerous character is a very bright, pure, angelic chaaracter, shown through the white t-shirt. However the black hoodie is shown he has been a victim of peer pressure and the pressure has swallowed him uop and his possessing his personality. The dark shoes and navy tracksuit bottoms represent evil and trouble filling his body which is at the halfway mark and if it carries on his whole body will be full, changing his persona and personality all together.
These items of clothing will be worn by the character Morgan Scott to reinforce the typical teenage stereotype. All the items of clothing are of a monochrome nature to represent the characters personality and intentions in the opening sequence. The black coat gives the audience a visual connotation of a mysterious character with black also associated with fear and the unknown. It also has a negative connotation and makes it hard to recognise the character which adds to the very mysterious trait Morgan posseses. Many would use the term 'Chav' to describe this character, a very strong stereotype within modern day society. We have tried to reinforce this stereotype so the audience immediately associate this character with that particular stereotype only then to challenge this.. Many teenagers are put into this specific category by people who they don't even know forcing them to feel offended and unhappy. We want to face this problem head on within our opening sequence and by using these items of clothing i feel they give us the best opportunity to do so.

3.4 Cast Profile
Wes Maggs is the character in our opening sequence who we want to portray as the most confident out of the 3 main protagonists. We want to develop Wes's character to have a shifty and shady look about him while seemingly taking a lead role within the group of the three teenagers. We want Wes to connote danger to audience and show as the character who is most likely to commit a crime or cause trouble. He is also seen as the brains of the operation and the one who drives the group towards trouble. We will also show each character having an individual idiosyncrasy to create enigma within the sequence so the audience will have to think deeper into the meaning. Wes's idiosyncrasy is he finds it hard to make a decision for him. We will show this throughout to make the enigma clear to the audience.
Morgan Scott will play our second protagonist in the opening sequence. We want to portray Morgan as aggressive as well as blunt character who seems untroubled in the lead up to where all the three characters meet up on the bench. Morgan does not ask many questions and does what he is told to do without any fuss. Morgan's idiosyncrasy is he never takes his shoes, this is something we will try to focus on throughout the sequence to help create enigma.
Our final protagonist is Jae Stacey. Jae is slightly different to the other two characters in the sense that he will seem much more edgy and nervous in the build up the exchange of the bag and the meet up on the bench. We want to show Jae as a victim of peer pressure who has been seen to be forced into a situation in which he does not feel comfortable in. He has no aggressive or shady traits in appearance unlike Wes and Morgan although all three characters will still try to reinforce typical teenage stereotypes throughout. Jae's idiosyncrasy is that he has an obsessive compulsive disorder for circles which will try to show in the opening sequence.
